Abe’s Garden Community is seeking a Housekeeping Manager to lead our housekeeping team and help create a clean, welcoming, and comfortable environment for our residents, families, and staff.
This is a working manager position for a hands-on leader who enjoys both managing people and being actively involved in the day-to-day work. The Housekeeping Manager will oversee housekeeping operations, coordinate staff and schedules, maintain high standards of cleanliness, and work alongside the team to ensure our community consistently feels like home.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, train, coach, and support the housekeeping team.
- Work alongside housekeeping staff to complete daily cleaning and housekeeping responsibilities.
- Create and manage daily and weekly housekeeping schedules and assignments.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout resident rooms, common areas, offices, and other community spaces.
- Inspect completed work and address opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure appropriate use, storage, and inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, and recognition of housekeeping team members.
- Respond to resident, family, and department needs with professionalism and a hospitality-focused approach.
- Partner with other departments to support the overall resident experience.
- Ensure housekeeping practices follow applicable safety, infection prevention, and organizational standards.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous housekeeping experience, preferably in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or a similar environment.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- A hands-on leadership style and willingness to work alongside the team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to high standards.
- A positive attitude and genuine desire to create a welcoming environment for others.
