About the Role
Our Las Vegas branch is the flagship and highest volume location in the SmartSource network—operating at the heart of the nation’s largest trade shows, corporate conferences, and fast-turn event productions. As Branch Operations Manager, you’ll own the end-to-end operations and lead a talented team responsible for delivering complex, high impact projects on time and on budget.
This is a strategic leadership role that blends operational mastery with team development. You’ll oversee warehouse operations, logistics, labor planning, and cost center performance, ensuring excellence through data driven KPIs, Lean methods, and Six Sigma discipline.
You’ll manage a team of roughly 30 employees (including supervisors and technicians), driving continuous improvement and building a culture focused on accountability, technical proficiency, and teamwork. This is an opportunity to lead SmartSource’s most dynamic branch, influence best practices across the network, and grow into broader operational leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own full branch operations: warehouse performance, logistics, labor scheduling, job planning, and onsite project execution within a data driven, continuous improvement environment.
- Lead and develop the team: coach supervisors and technicians, establish clear accountability, and foster a results oriented workplace rooted in precision and pride.
- Drive cost and efficiency: manage labor and overtime exposure through forecasting and strategic staffing across a variable event calendar.
- Deliver flawless execution: ensure technical readiness for IT and AV setups, monitor firstpass yield, and apply root cause analysis to eliminate inefficiencies.
- Own the metrics: track and deliver success on key performance indicators enabling Big Bets and Wildly Important Goals. Examples include First Pass Yield and overtime mitigation.
- Champion safety and compliance: uphold safety and quality standards throughout branch and field operations.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of operations management experience in a high volume, fast paced environment (distribution, logistics, or field operations).
- Preferred backgrounds include Operations Managers or Distribution Center Operations Managers from Amazon, Wayfair, Chewy, or Walmart DCOMs—or comparable experience managing largescale fulfillment or logistics operations.
- Proven ability to manage labor efficiency, throughput, and scheduling complexity under time pressure.
- Experience leading teams of 20 across multiple functions or shifts.
- Analytical, metrics driven mindset able to translate data into actionable improvements.
- Well organized with strong multitasking ability in a dynamic project based setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ERP or equipment management system experience preferred.
- Technical fluency in IT or AV deployment is a plus.
Preferred Experience:
- Event technology, IT rental, or AV production environments.
- Familiarity with professional AV brands (JBL, Meyer, Christie, Yamaha, Shure, etc.).
- Background in Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, or other process improvement systems.
- ERP or rental management experience in multisite operations.
