Medescreen is the construction division of its parent company, Abbott. Medescreen has been providing onsite drug testing and medical services for more than a decade.
Medescreen provides pre-employment drug testing and medical services for large general contractors on construction sites. We are currently hiring full time & part-time employees to help with staffing needs. All employees must possess a valid RI, MA or CT EMT Certification or National EMT certification (NREMT), and current CPR card. Medescreen will provide training for all employees to be compliant with the DOT drug testing administration standards. All employees must complete the OSHA 30 online training within the first 30days, Medescreen will pay for this training. Uniforms and PPE will be provided. Reliable transportation is a requirement, as not every site is accessible by public transportation.

· Position Summary:
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT ) / Paramedics will be responsible for being the first responder to all emergency and non-emergency construction site incidences. They would administer first-aid care in accordance to state, local, and national guidelines. Duties also include daily administration of site required drug and alcohol testing programs and working with construction site Safety Personnel.
We are looking for someone who can:
- Respond to calls for assistance
- Administer first aid care per state, local and national guidelines
- Properly assess injuries and the coordination for appropriate transportation to medical facilities
- Effectively communicate with Safety Managers, EMS Personnel and Medical Facility Staff
- Assist site Safety Personnel with safety related duties and inspections
- Provide detailed documentation of medical and safety related incidents
- Coordinate with Safety Managers in maintaining the most safe and secure construction site environment
- Administer daily site required drug, and alcohol testing programs
- Additional duties as directed
- Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Current CPR or BLS (Basic Life Support) or equivalent credential
- State Certification for EMT or Paramedic or National EMT certification, (NREMT)
- At least 2 year of experience, including trauma working as an EMT
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills
Preferred:
- Prior experience with Site Safety
- Construction industry experience
- OSHA 30
