Our client is an investment firm. They seek a Senior Project Accountant to join their Manhattan, NY office.
Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting for development projects, including budgeting, cost tracking, reporting, and draw preparation for financing
- Maintain accurate job cost records, reconcile budgets to actuals, and analyze variances and trends
- Monitor capital contributions, debt draws, and equity funding schedules to ensure proper cash management
- Prepare monthly financial reports, forecasts, and cash flow projections for projects, investors, and lenders
- Support quarterly, year-end, audit, and tax reporting requirements for project entities
- Update financial models and pro formas in collaboration with development teams
- Partner with development, construction, and asset management teams to review budget changes and project transitions
- Communicate regularly with lenders, investors, and other external stakeholders on project financial performance
- Maintain compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and reporting standards
- Improve project accounting processes and systems while staying informed on industry best practices
Requirements
- 5 years of development or project accounting experience
- Real estate industry preferred
- Private or combo experience required
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Sage Intact or GL experience is a plus
