Our client is an investment management firm. They seek a BDC Fund Accounting/Operations Associate to join their Manhattan, NY team.
Responsibilities
- Support implementation of accounting, financial reporting, and operational processes and procedures for the BDC
- Execute monitoring controls, including SOX compliance, and review monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting packages and public filings with the Fund Admin
- Prepare quarterly SEC reporting, ensuring GAAP compliance and integration of Fund Admin deliverables and footnote disclosures
- Maintain shadow books in the accounting system and reconcile breaks with the Fund Admin
- Collaborate with the operations team on trade settlement, cash management, and coordination with custodians, administrators, and counterparties
- Manage expense processes, including invoice tracking, accruals, and preparation of LOAs for payment
- Prepare quarterly reporting packages for the BDC Board
- Monitor RIC and tax compliance requirements and reporting obligations
- Track investor fund flows, leverage facility reporting, liquidity needs, and deal pipeline cash requirements
Requirements
- 3 years of relevant experience
- Financial services industry required
- Public, private, or combo
- BDC experience is a plus, not required
- Strong foundation of accounting for financial services firms
- SEC reporting and GAAP experience
- CPA required
