We are seeking an on-site Locums Emergency Medicine physician for an ongoing assignment in Nashville, Tennessee (minimum 6 months). The role is based in a 12-bed emergency department with a manageable patient volume and full scope of emergency practice.
Position highlights:
- Duration: ongoing assignment, minimum 6 months
- Shifts: 6:00 AM–6:00 PM or 6:00 PM–6:00 AM
- No call responsibilities
- 12-bed ED with census under 30 patients per day and fewer than 10 admissions daily
- Full range of emergency procedures performed on site
Key responsibilities:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting to the ED
- Manage acute and emergent medical conditions and stabilize patients
- Perform emergency procedures as indicated, including procedural sedation, endotracheal intubation, central line placement, and other standard ED interventions within scope of practice
- Determine disposition and coordinate consultations, admissions, transfers, and follow-up care
- Maintain timely, accurate medical records and documentation
Qualifications:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine
- Completion of an Emergency Medicine residency
- ABEM certification or eligibility required
- Active Tennessee medical license or ability to obtain one
