A&W is looking for an experienced Cook to join our team in Sparks, NV. This position is focused on food preparation, cooking, order assembly, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
We are looking for someone who has previous restaurant or fast-food kitchen experience and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Prior cooking experience is required for this position.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook food according to A&W recipes, procedures, and quality standards.
- Operate grills, fryers, and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Prepare burgers, fries, chicken, and other menu items.
- Assemble orders quickly and accurately.
- Follow proper food handling, food safety, and sanitation procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized cooking and prep area.
- Keep the kitchen stocked with necessary ingredients and supplies.
- Assist with food prep and restocking during and between shifts.
- Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, workstations, and cooking areas.
- Work efficiently with the team during busy periods.
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant, fast-food, or commercial kitchen cooking experience is required.
- Must be comfortable working on a grill and/or fryer.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Dependable and able to arrive on time for scheduled shifts.
- Ability to follow recipes, portioning guidelines, and food safety procedures.
- Positive attitude and ability to work well as part of a team.
- Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
