SUMMARY:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and ambitious Junior Accountant to join our for-profit division. This role is ideal for candidates with a degree in accounting who are eager to kickstart their career in a dynamic and professional environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and reconciling general ledger accounts.
- Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Process journal entries and ensure proper documentation.
- Collaborate with team members to complete the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Review and verify invoices and assist with accounts payable and receivable functions.
- Prepare account reconciliations, including bank statements and other financial reports.
- Provide support during audits and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager or Controller.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
- Internship or minimal work experience in an accounting role preferred but not required.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (experience with NetSuite is a plus).
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
