SUMMARY: The Crew Chief will lead a team of individuals enrolled in a work readiness program, providing both leadership in painting projects and hands-on training. In addition to overseeing day-to-day painting operations, the Crew Chief will collaborate closely with classroom instructors to align practical, on-the-job skills with the academic curriculum. This role will also involve regular communication with A Safe Haven Foundation staff to provide updates on trainee progress, professionalism, and job readiness. You will play a key role in ensuring the safety, skill development, and overall success of each crew member as they prepare for a professional painting career
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee a crew of painting trainees, providing leadership, instruction, and mentorship.
- Plan and coordinate daily painting tasks and project schedules.
- Conduct practical on-the-job training, focusing on proper painting techniques, surface preparation, tool use, and quality control.
- Collaborate with the classroom instructor to align practical training with academic instruction, ensuring consistency in skill development.
- Provide feedback to A Safe Haven Foundation staff on trainee progress, professionalism, and job readiness.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed, fostering a safe and productive work environment.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of each trainee, offering feedback and additional instruction as needed.
- Ensure that projects are completed on time and meet quality standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during painting projects.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to job sites or crew performance.
- Maintain inventory of painting supplies and ensure the proper use and care of tools and equipment.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This position will oversee a crew of three (3) to five (5) painters.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university, or three to five years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven experience in residential or commercial painting.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of painting techniques, tools, and materials.
- Commitment to safety and the ability to teach and enforce safety procedures.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to mentor and train individuals of varying skill levels.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
- A desire to help individuals develop professionally, including providing constructive feedback and encouragement.

Salary : $59,000 - $65,000
