A Day in the Life of a Home Health Aide
As a Home Health Aide, you play a vital role in helping patients maintain comfort, dignity, and independence. Your responsibilities include:
- Providing hands‑on personal care such as bathing, grooming, oral care, shaving, nail care, and dressing
- Assisting with simple nursing or therapy procedures
- Supporting patients with ambulation, exercises, and medication administration
- Helping with meal preparation and feeding when needed
- Taking vital signs and reporting changes in condition to the nurse
- Assisting with transfers and post‑therapy rehab activities
- Offering patient instructions as appropriate
- Practicing infection control and following universal precautions
- Recognizing and reporting any suspected abuse per policy and law
- Occasionally assisting with office tasks, telemonitoring setup, or new‑hire orientation

Qualifications
- Active HHA certification in good standing with the Oklahoma State Department of Health
- CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days)
