Duties
- Install new HVAC systems including air conditioning units, furnaces, boilers, and ventilation equipment according to schematics and HVAC design plans
- Conduct system troubleshooting and repairs on existing HVAC units, ensuring optimal performance through mechanical systems repair and electrical diagnostics
- Interpret technical schematics, building automation systems, and electrical diagrams to accurately install or repair HVAC equipment
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems such as cleaning, filter replacement, and system checks to ensure ongoing efficiency
- Diagnose issues using tools like ohmmeters and other electrical testing devices; troubleshoot refrigeration and ammonia refrigeration systems when necessary
- Coordinate with property owners to provide excellent customer service by explaining system functions and maintenance needs clearly
- Maintain detailed records of installations, repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities in compliance with safety standards
Requirements
- Proven construction experience with a strong understanding of mechanical systems repair and building automation systems
- Service technician experience in HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) preferred
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams accurately
- Knowledge of HVAC system installation, repair procedures, electrical diagnostics, plumbing connections, and refrigeration technology
- Familiarity with HVAC design principles, equipment troubleshooting techniques, and maintenance practices
- Proficiency with hand tools and electrical testing equipment such as ohmmeters; experience with equipment repair is essential
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to operate a
driver vehicle safely at all times - EPA certification for refrigerant handling required; additional certifications in ammonia refrigeration or boiler operation are a plus
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills to ensure client satisfaction during every interaction
