Duties
- Stock shelves efficiently by receiving, unpacking, and organizing products to ensure merchandise is available and visually appealing
- Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system accurately to process transactions quickly and smoothly
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product locations or selections
- Handle cashier duties including cash handling, processing payments, issuing receipts, and balancing registers at the end of shifts
- Conduct product demos when applicable to showcase new or featured items and enhance customer engagement
- Maintain proper merchandising standards by arranging products attractively and restocking as needed
- Upsell relevant products or promotions to increase sales while ensuring customer satisfaction
Skills
- Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Previous supervising experience is a plus for leadership opportunities within the team
- Ability to perform retail math accurately for transactions and inventory management
- Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities to serve diverse customers effectively
- Excellent phone etiquette for handling inquiries or customer service calls professionally
- Experience in merchandising, stocking, grocery store operations, or retail sales preferred
- Ability to demonstrate product features through demos and upselling techniques
- Basic math skills for cash register operations and inventory counts
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a friendly, energetic attitude that fosters positive shopping experiences
