POSITION SUMMARY
The Director for Workshops and Continuing Education will report to Vice President for Academic Affairs and work cooperatively with all departments on campus. The Director is responsible for coordinating successful workshops and continuing education opportunities on-ground and online locally, regionally, and nationally. This position involves organizing workshop opportunities, coordinating courses, marketing and registering students, as well as overseeing all workshops, courses, and program activities that comprise the continuing education offerings. The individual in this role reports directly to the VP for Academic Affairs.

MAJOR FUNCTIONS
- Develops, implements, coordinates, and evaluates on-and off-campus educational workshops and continuing education opportunities throughout the state and region
- Ensures compliance with all regulating bodies to offer graduate workshop credit and continuing education for teacher renewal and other professional development offerings, collaborating with the USF Registrar Office and other internal and external partners
- Develops, monitors, and maintains the budget, and forecasts projected resources that are needed
- Fosters collaborative partnerships, using outstanding communication skills, with school districts, education agencies, other higher education institution, certificate programs, and other organizations working with the School of Education, Masters of Education program, Registrar’s Office, and other departments on campus.
- Coordinates workshops to take place with faculty, adjuncts, schools, and organizations or agencies on the USF Campus, as well as in the state and region.
- Coordinates and facilitates education/professional development special events
- Conducts research and develops and implements new program concepts to determine institutional fit and seeks out adjunct faculty as needed
- Works cooperatively with USF Marketing to promote workshops and continuing education offerings
- Attends monthly Professional Studies meetings and others as needed
- Responsible for adhering to all Department and University policies and procedures, as well as the rules, regulations, bylaws, and interpretations of the Northern Sun Conference and the NCAA; CAEP; and Title IX
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; AA degree with significant experience considered
- Experience with education, sales, marketing, business, or similar
- Higher education experience preferred
- Robust planning and organizational skills, including ability to manage multiple relationships and priorities in a fast-paced environment while working independently to reach goals.
- Understanding of the educational landscape (i.e. elementary and secondary)
- Commitment and ability to articulate the Christian mission of the University
- Exceptional communication skills: written, oral, and listening
- Ability to forge partnerships with an entrepreneurial disposition
- Demonstration of a strong work ethic
- Collaborative, budgeting, and operational skills are required, with attention to detail required
- Knowledge of enrollment management systems, survey tools, and all Microsoft Suite applications preferred.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds; successfully pass required background checks as required by USF; valid driver’s license
