The Primrose School of Sioux Falls at Heather Ridge is seeking a full-time Director for our facility. This position will ensure adherence to our mission of bringing the best and most trusted in early childhood education and child care services to families we serve. We are seeking an individual who is energetic, organized, a problem solver, and possesses great communication skills. This individual needs to be passionate about early childhood education and dedicated to the success of our next generation.

Primrose School of Sioux Falls at Heather Ridge offers year-round programs for children from infant through pre-kindergarten.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field; OR Child Development Associate™ (CDA) Credential™
  • A minimum of two years teaching experience in a licensed early childhood program preferred
  • Must meet state licensing and Primrose training requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Passionately believes in and is able to communicate all aspects of the Primrose Balanced Learning® approach to teaching and learning
  • Deliver a premier childcare experience for children, staff, and families
  • Creates a culture of engagement and continuous improvement
  • Collaborates with other members of the Leadership Team to provide ongoing feedback for teaching staff, using a variety of tools such as the Teacher Observation Tool and student assessment data
  • Works with teachers to identify strengths and areas of opportunity to design plans for continual improvement
  • Coordinates with other members of the Leadership Team to implement the training plan for new teaching staff according to classroom-specific Continual Learning Guides
  • Ensure teachers are providing a safe, nurturing, fun and educational environment.
  • Fill in for teachers in classrooms as needed
  • Work with teachers on preparing weekly curriculum materials/plans.
  • Source/order curriculum materials
  • Ensures teacher training requirements are up to date
  • Monitors and coordinates classroom transitions
  • Conduct school tours and Parent Orientations when needed
  • Conducts classroom observations to regularly support and ensure Balanced Learning® curriculum implementation and delivery
  • Create social media posts that highlight the curriculum being used in each of our classrooms
  • Work alongside other leadership team members to drive enrollment and retain current families/staff
  • Maintains confidentiality
  • Communicate with parents in a professional/positive manner on a continual basis

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to move around the school, including standing, walking, and navigating between classrooms, offices, and outdoor play areas.
  • Occasionally lift and carry items such as educational materials, office supplies, or classroom equipment (typically up to 25-30 pounds).

Pay: From $40,294.09 per year
