Position Summary
The Applications Engineer will work closely with customers, vendors, and internal teams to deliver technical solutions, troubleshoot equipment, and support business growth within the assigned territory. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with mechanical seals and pumps, along with strong communication and organizational skills.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships across various industry markets to support business development and customer retention
- Collaborate with customers to:
- Conduct seal “as-found” reports and root cause analysis
- Troubleshoot systems and provide recommendations
- Develop specifications for new installations
- Coordinate service and repair needs for both AGI and competitor products
- Partner with internal sales and applications teams to:
- Develop systems for new applications and expansions
- Provide technical solutions and support customer proposals
- Travel with sales team members to promote mechanical seals and meet revenue targets
- Work closely with key vendors to:
- Develop quotes and technical recommendations
- Maintain and update vendor portals, including seal report documentation
- Assist with maintaining inventory levels in accordance with vendor distribution programs
- Stay current on mechanical seal technology and product training
- Identify growth opportunities in mechanical seals, pumps, and service/repair markets within assigned territory
- Conduct in-person meetings and technical presentations with customers, including maintenance, engineering, and operations personnel
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Qualifications & Requirements
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational, time management, and planning skills
- High attention to detail and ability to anticipate customer needs
- Team-oriented with strong collaboration skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for quotes, presentations, and documentation
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2–3 years of experience with mechanical seals, centrifugal pumps, or fluid dynamics preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
