Position Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer III to design, implement, and maintain enterprise-level network infrastructure. This role requires deep expertise in routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and cloud networking, with a strong focus on performance, scalability, and security. About The Team This position will work within the Network Engineering team in Enterprise Technology Operations (ETO), collaborate with other engineering teams, Information Security, Project Management/Portfolio Management, facilities, and vendors to plan, design, implement and operate all network services. Key Responsibilities Architect, deploy, and manage LAN/WAN, wireless, and cloud-based network solutions Configure and maintain routers, switches, and firewalls to ensure optimal performance. Monitor network health, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement proactive solutions to minimize downtime. Lead network-related projects, including upgrades, migrations, and integrations with emerging technologies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and ensure secure connectivity. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to strengthen team capabilities. Document network designs, procedures, and best practices for operational efficiency Primary Qualifications 7 or more years of progressive experience in network engineering Cisco CCNP certification or equivalent experience and skillset Palo Alto PCNSE certification or equivalent experience and skillset Expert-level knowledge of the OSI model, Subnetting, TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF and QoS Strong background in Cisco routing and switching technologies Advanced knowledge of next-gen firewalls, Palo Alto preferred Proficiency in VPN technologies and remote access solutions Hands-on experience with cloud networking and hybrid connectivity, Azure and/or AWS preferred Hands-on experience with SD-WAN products, Meraki and Palo Alto preferred Deep understanding of network security protocols, including 802.1X, RADIUS, TACACS , SSL/TLS Advanced troubleshooting skills using packet analyzers (Wireshark, tcpdump) and monitoring tools (Solarwinds, DataDog, ThousandEyes, etc…) Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders clearly and persuasively. Strong analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot critical issues under pressure and implement long-term solutions. Proven experience guiding junior engineers, fostering collaboration, and building high-performing teams. Desired Qualifications Cloud certifications, Azure preferred (AZ-305 and AZ-700) Comfortable scripting with Python, Powershell and Bash Familiar with network automation using Terraform and/or Ansible. Bicep is a plus. Ability to design and enforce network access control policies using 802.1x, RADIUS, TACACS and Cisco ISE Familiarity with VXLAN and Cisco Nexus Dashboard, especially in a multi-site environment Experience with private cloud connectivity via Azure Expressroute and/or AWS DirectConnect Clayton is committed to opening doors to a better life.
