Reports to: FOH Manager / General Manager

Summary:

A bartender is to be knowledgeable of all food and beverage offerings as well as mixing and serving drinks directly to guests or through service bar. Bartenders are responsible for providing and fostering positive relationships and memorable experiences with guests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with customers.
• Check and maintain quality and speed of service.
• Ability to suggestively upsell food and beverage options.
• Stay updated on current menu items and pricing.
• Communicate effectively with team members throughout the shift.
• Properly check IDs before serving alcoholic beverages.
• Maintain a clean workspace and complete all required side work.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform each essential duty to a satisfactory level.

Education and/or Experience:

• 2 years secondary education and must be of legal age per local law.

Computer Skills:

• Ability to operate POS register system.
• Ability to understand Microsoft Windows.

Language Skills:

• Ability to read and comprehend simple English instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group scenarios to customers and fellow team members.

Mathematical Skills:

• Ability to add, subtract, multiple, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate and percent.

Reasoning Ability:

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one-or-two step instructions.
• Ability to efficiently work with people.

Other Skills and Abilities:

• Must have excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Must have a positive, courteous, energetic, and enthusiastic personality. These traits should be used in all aspects of customer and coworker interactions.

Physical Demands:

• While performing the duties of this job a server is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Reach with hands and arms to move items up to 50 pounds.
• Talk and hear.
