Department: Front of House
Reports to: FOH Manager / General Manager
Summary:
A food runner is responsible for delivering food and beverage as well as fostering positive relationships and memorable experiences with guests. Food Runners are also responsible for the cleanliness and upkeep of the venue.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet and interact with guests.
- Check and maintain quality and speed of service.
- Ability to suggestively upsell food and beverage offerings.
- Stay updated on current menu items, pricing, & specials.
- Communicate effectively with team members throughout the shift.
- Properly check IDs before serving alcoholic beverages.
- Maintain a clean workspace and complete all required side work.
Qualifications
- Must be able to perform each essential duty to a satisfactory level.
Education and/or Experience:
- 2 years secondary education and must be of legal age per local law.
Computer Skills:
- Ability to operate POS register system.
- Ability to understand Microsoft Windows.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read and comprehend simple English instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group scenarios to customers and fellow team members.
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiple, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate and percent.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one-or-two step instructions.
- Ability to work efficiently with people.
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Must have excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.

Physical Demands:
