Role overview
You’ll support production, shipping, receiving, fabrication, installation, and repair work for conveyor belts and related products in a shop and customer-site environment.
What you’ll do
- Build and repair conveyor belts and conveyor belt components.
- Install and vulcanize lightweight conveyor belting.
- Receive and verify incoming parts, materials, and supplies.
- Maintain stock areas and follow sales orders.
- Ship products and verify items loaded for shipment.
- Work with truck carriers and couriers.
- Fabricate, install, and repair conveyor belting and systems.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and shipment data.
- Report major discrepancies, over-shipments, or substitutions to a supervisor.
- Pick up and deliver orders, stock, and supplies.
- Keep the work area neat, orderly, and safe.
- Use tools and equipment with proper care.
- Follow safety rules and wear required PPE.
What you’ll need
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Strong mechanical background and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to interpret and verify precise measurements using a tape measure.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Strong organization, prioritization, and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations.
- Forklift experience preferred.
- Maintenance or belt technician experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
Physical and work environment
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work at heights and in tight spaces.
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and equipment.
- Noise level may be loud.
- Manual dexterity and strength needed to use tools, equipment controls, and related items.
- Work may require standing, bending, kneeling, or sitting for long periods.
