Responsibilities: JOB SUMMARY The Contract Specialist will coordinate various legal documents across the department. Prepare responses to interrogatories and other requests from internal and external stakeholders. Draft, review, edit and track various provider contracts. Assist with due diligence, contract maintenance and special projects. Assist in maintaining and organizing contract records, maintaining database for reports and renewals. Foster trust and communication between the Department and various other departments throughout the organization. Duties include assisting with contract development, administration, tracking and analysis, as well as communication, maintenance and monitoring of contract compliance. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Manage, in close collaboration with the appropriate Internal stakeholders, the contract writing process from the initiation to the completion of the process, including but not limited to termination letters and related correspondence, contract writing and review as assigned, handling of all documents, including the final execution and uploading into the contract management system, and, if required, contract rate sheet development, finalization and issuance. Work with subject matter experts to transform complex operational and regulatory language into legal contracts that are easy to read, easy to understand and easy to follow. Input and maintain contract data for new and existing contracts. Responsible for input into contract management system. Pivot from one project to another, balancing multiple projects against competing timelines. Provide feedback, based on trends, for contract language and rate improvement. Draft, review, proofread, format, revise, and disseminate a wide range legal documents, agreements, correspondence and memorandums. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, synthesizing feedback throughout the life of a project to ensure final product is aligned with expectations. Act as a resource for other departments in problem solving and providing contracting and reimbursement information. Maintain excellent working relationship with both internal and external partners. Work collaboratively in a dynamic contracting environment. Assist with the development and maintenance of information that supports the Contracting Department SharePoint sites. Performs other duties as assigned. EDUCATION Associates or 2 years' work-related experience Required Bachelors or 4 years' work-related experience Preferred EXPERIENCE 2 years related experience in health care, preferably working with physicians in a hospital or physician group Required 5 years related experience in health care, i.e. facility and/or physician.
