Traffic Specialist III
Location- Calera , AL
Contract- 3 Years
Work Schedule: Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays

Position Summary
The Traffic Specialist III supports transportation and logistics operations by coordinating the movement of materials and equipment in both routine and emergency situations. This role partners closely with internal customers, carriers, and suppliers to ensure safe, compliant, and cost-effective transportation solutions while maintaining strict adherence to DOT regulations and safety standards.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in transportation services, freight invoice review, carrier coordination, and regulated material movement within a utility or industrial environment.
Primary Responsibilities

Assist internal customers with transportation and logistics needs

Resolve transportation and routing issues efficiently

Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders

Maintain strong working knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
-
Ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment during both routine operations and emergency events

Review and approve freight invoices for accuracy
-
Maintain knowledge of carrier contracts to help maximize freight savings

Support transportation planning for time-sensitive and critical shipments
Required Qualifications

Accredited college degree
(High school diploma with equivalent experience acceptable) -
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in transportation or logistics

Prior experience in the transportation services field

Experience reviewing and approving freight invoices

Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays

Strong attention to detail and accuracy
