About the role We are looking for a Craft Electrician to support the safe and reliable operation of electrical equipment and infrastructure across the Kennecott Copper Surface Mine operation. Reporting to the Supervisor – Electrical Maintenance, on a 4 on / 4 off continuous roster and working collaboratively with operational and functional teams, you will be responsible for: Troubleshooting and maintaining electrical systems from 12V DC to 13.8kV AC, including switchgear, transformers, and distribution panels Diagnosing and repairing AC and DC motors, including motor control circuits and starters Maintaining and troubleshooting variable frequency drives (VFDs) and soft starters Installing, calibrating, and troubleshooting instrumentation such as proximity sensors, level sensors, RTDs, and pressure sensors Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals Ensuring compliance with electrical safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and site‑specific policies About you A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team Proven experience working as an industrial or craft electrician in a heavy industrial or mining environment Strong knowledge of electrical systems, controls, and instrumentation across low and medium voltage applications Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation Willingness and ability to work a 4 on / 4 off continuous roster A collaborative mindset with respect for others in a diverse and inclusive team environment Applicants must be currently authorized to work for any employer in the United States. Where you'll be working Our Kennecott mine is a world-class, fully integrated copper mining operation, including a concentrator, smelter, and refinery, located just outside Salt Lake City, Utah, in the United States. We produce copper, precious metals including gold and silver, molybdenum, and sulfuric acid.
