A well-established leader in the data construction space has an immediate opening for a Project Engineer at a ground-up construction site in East Mesa. This is a contract assignment with an expected duration of 3 months.
The Project Engineer is expected to be on site 5 days a week. Hourly pay with some OT anticipated. Strong consideration will be given for permanent employment for anyone that fills the role effectively during the contract period.
Job Description: Project Engineer (Contract)
Project: Mission Critical / Data Center Campus
Location: East Mesa, AZ (On-site / Job Trailer)
Schedule: 7am to 3pm (OT as needed)
Reporting to: Project Manager
Role Summary
The Project Engineer is responsible for assisting in Project Management and Field Supervision to ensure this high-profile data center project is completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. This role acts as a critical link between the office and the field team, facilitating seamless document control and subcontractor coordination.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Procore Management: Primary responsibility for managing RFIs and project submittals. Ensure all shop drawings and project plans comply with specifications and contract provisions.
- Meeting & Admin: Prepare and distribute meeting minutes for weekly Staff and Owner/Architect/Contractor (OAC) meetings.
- Field Support: Assist the Superintendent with job site start-up, maintaining schedules, and completing accurate daily reports (including weather and subcontractor manpower).
- Project Controls: Assist the Project Manager with preparing the master cost breakdown, project close-out documents, and filing project photographs/safety logs.
- Estimating Support: As needed, assist with Invitations to Bid (ITBs), soliciting trade proposals, and performing quantity take-offs.
- Safety Culture: Visibly support and uphold strong safety culture by reporting concerns and complying with all site safety policies.
Requirements
- Software Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in Procore is required.
- Education: Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Experience: Previous experience with a General Contractor, preferably on Design-Build or Mission Critical/Data Center projects.
- Availability: Must be able to work on-site in East Mesa 5 days a week. Ability to handle overtime (40 hours) during the initial 1-2 months of the contract.
- License: Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
