Position Summary
- Lead the design and execution of In-Line Inspection (ILI) and pipeline integrity projects.
- Provide engineering leadership for pigging upgrades, launcher/receiver installations, pipeline modifications, and hydrostatic testing programs.
- Manage projects from initial scope development through design, construction, commissioning, and as-built documentation.
- Serve as a primary client contact, ensuring successful project delivery and long-term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Design ILI launcher and receiver stations, including barrels and associated piping systems.
- Develop pipeline replacement and modification solutions to improve piggability.
- Design hydrostatic testing programs to establish or validate MAOP for natural gas infrastructure.
- Perform engineering calculations, equipment sizing, and materials selection.
- Prepare and review:Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) Piping and isometric drawings General arrangement drawings Bills of Material (BOMs)
- Develop weld procedures for launcher and receiver installation projects.
- Coordinate with civil, electrical, and fabrication teams on:Site improvement plans Grounding plans Fabrication assemblies Installation clearances
- Support permitting, licensing, and land rights activities.
- Assist with proposal development and RFP responses.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers and project team members.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and client communications.
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements, including Mega Rule initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
- 7 years of gas pipeline design experience.
- 4 years of ILI launcher and receiver design experience.
- Experience managing engineering projects from concept through construction.
- Strong knowledge of pipeline industry standards and regulations, including: ASME B31.3, B31.4, and B31.8 API standards 49 CFR 192, 193, and 195 NFPA and CSA codes
- Proven project management and client-facing experience.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within one year.
- Experience in a consulting engineering environment.
- Basic proficiency with CAD software.
