We’re looking for an experienced Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day operations for a growing environmental services company based in San Diego. This role is ideal for a proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and enjoys driving efficiency, safety, and quality across multiple project teams.
You’ll work closely with senior leadership to streamline field operations, improve internal processes, and ensure every project runs smoothly, on time, on budget, and in full compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and optimize daily operations for residential and commercial remediation and demolition projects.
Oversee staffing, scheduling, equipment logistics, and subcontractor coordination to meet production goals.
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety and environmental standards.
Develop and enforce operational policies, procedures, and performance metrics.
Monitor budgets, project timelines, and profitability; report regularly to leadership on KPIs.
Partner with project management and estimating teams to align operational needs with business goals.
Lead, mentor, and develop field and administrative staff to foster a culture of accountability and excellence.
Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Promote a strong safety culture through ongoing training, audits, and incident reviews.
Support client relationships by resolving operational issues quickly and effectively.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
5–8 years of experience in operations management within construction, environmental remediation, or demolition industries.
Proven success managing budgets, schedules, and teams across multiple job sites.
Strong understanding of regulatory compliance for hazardous materials, waste handling, and remediation.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with project tracking and resource-management software.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally to job sites.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with the San Diego and Southern California construction markets.
Relevant environmental certifications (Asbestos Supervisor, Lead Abatement, OSHA HAZWOPER).
Experience implementing process-improvement frameworks such as Lean or Six Sigma.
