Job Description

26North is seeking an Associate to join its growing Middle Office Solutions team. This role is a front-to-back investment operations position supporting private credit, real estate, private equity, and insurance portfolios across the firm’s investment strategies.

The Associate will work closely with investment teams, portfolio managers, and senior leadership to ensure the seamless execution of trades, accuracy of portfolio data, and integrity of cash, valuation, and reporting processes.

This is a new role within a growing platform, requiring strong analytical capabilities, attention to detail, and the ability to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an ownership mindset, a systems-oriented approach to problem solving, and a desire to continuously improve processes through automation and technology.

Responsibilities

Trade Lifecycle, Data Integrity, & Investment Support

• Own the end-to-end trade lifecycle across public and private investments, including trade capture, booking, settlement, and lifecycle event management
• Partner directly with investment teams to support deal execution
• Ensure all trades and transactions are accurately reflected across internal systems and external counterparties
• Interface with fund administrators, custodians, and counterparties to resolve issues and maintain data integrity
• Work across systems including Allvue Aladdin, and internal tools to manage trade processing, accounting, and reporting workflows
• Ensure integrity of security master and reference data, enabling accurate downstream reporting and analytics

Cash, Treasury & Capital Flows

• Manage daily cash activity, including wires, funding investments, collateral movements, and expense flows
• Maintain oversight of cash balances across complex account structures

Reconciliation, Valuation & Reporting

• Perform daily and monthly reconciliations across positions, cash, and P&L to ensure accuracy of books and records
• Support valuation processes across liquid and illiquid investments, including coordination with pricing vendors and fund administrators
• Contribute to internal reporting for portfolio managers and senior leadership, including exposure, performance, and liquidity metrics

Client & Platform Support

• Support onboarding and servicing of institutional clients, including SMAs and insurance-related mandates
• Coordinate across internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth operational execution and high-quality client experience

Process Improvement & Automation (AI Focus)

• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce manual processes, and improve operational efficiency
• Collaborate with the team to leverage emerging technologies, including AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude, to automate processes, enhance data workflows, and improve reporting capabilities
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, with a focus on scalability, accuracy, and speed

Qualifications

Experience

• 2–6 years of relevant experience in investment operations within a financial institution
• Demonstrated experience working across the full trade lifecycle and supporting complex investment strategies

Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of trade lifecycle, cash flows, and portfolio operations across liquid and illiquid assets
• Experience with systems such as Allvue, Geneva, VPM, Aladdin, or similar platforms
• High level of attention to detail and analytical rigor, particularly in reconciliation and data validation processes
• Systems-oriented mindset with the ability to identify inefficiencies and implement scalable solutions
• Interest in leveraging technology and AI tools to improve workflows and drive operational innovation.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with investment teams and external stakeholders
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of ownership and accountability

Education

• Bachelor’s degree required.

The base salary for this position is expected to be between $100,000.00 and $150,000.00. The base salary offered to the chosen candidate will be commensurate with a candidate’s relevant experience and other qualifications for the position, as determined by the Company in its sole discretion.
