Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Job Purpose
26Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) experienced in providing psychiatric and mental health care for ADHD patients. Psychiatric and mental health assessments including patient evaluation, diagnosis and treatment are determined and delivered during inpatient visits to the clinic. In this role, you will provide high-quality healthcare services to patients, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure that each individual receives the care they need. You will be an integral part of our healthcare system, delivering personalized care and building long-term relationships with patients.
Duties and responsibilities
- Conduct initial consultations, assess patient conditions, and perform comprehensive physical exams and health screenings.
- Evaluate patients, formulate diagnoses, and develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients and their families.
- Prescribe, monitor, and adjust medications, providing education on usage, dosages, and potential side effects.
- Provide counseling, therapies, mental health education, and ongoing support for patients and their families.
- Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, mental health specialists, and social workers to coordinate patient care.
- Advocate for patients, including guidance on gender identity, sexual health, and STD treatment, while coordinating care across providers.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records, treatment plans, and documentation in compliance with legal, ethical, and regulatory standards.
- Stay current with professional development, adhere to clinical guidelines, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Experience
- Valid WHNP, APRN, or NP license in Florida, with DEA number; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required.
- Minimum 3 years of clinical experience, including ADHD/ADD diagnosis and treatment.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaborative teamwork skills, with empathy and patient-centered approach.
- Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) systems; commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards.
- Telemedicine experience is a plus.
Working conditions
- Prolonged periods standing, walking, and/or sitting at a desk and working on a computer may be required. Work may be required in various environments as needed by project/activity.
