Job purpose
The Physician at 26Health serves as the clinical leader for primary care, medical services, and gender-affirming care across all current and future clinic locations. This role is responsible for delivering exceptional, patient-centered healthcare with a specialized focus on hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and, ideally, expertise in endocrinology. The Physician will align clinical operations with 26Health’s mission and vision, ensuring that patient care meets the highest standards of quality, inclusivity, and cultural competence. This position is well-suited for a physician committed to advancing equitable healthcare access while fostering strong connections with the community we serve.
Duties and responsibilities
- Conducts comprehensive medical evaluations, diagnoses conditions, and develops individualized treatment plans.
- Provides primary care services, including routine check-ups, vaccinations, and preventive care.
- Offers specialized care in Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT).
- Serve as the clinical lead for primary care, medical and gender affirming care across all 26Health service locations.
- Monitors patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, holistic patient care.
- Consult with specialists for complex medical cases.
- Act as a resource for fellow healthcare providers in HRT or endocrinology expertise.
- Educate patients on diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive measures.
- Provide counseling and guidance on lifestyle modifications and health promotion.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR).
- Complete all required documentation in a timely and compliant manner.
- Adhere to clinical guidelines and best practices in patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance healthcare delivery.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Experience
- Medical degree (MD) from an accredited medical school.
- Board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Endocrinology.
- Active state medical license, board certification and DEA registration in good standing.
- Strong clinical skills in providing comprehensive primary care.
- Expertise in Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) or Endocrinology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to patient-centered, inclusive care.
Working conditions
- Prolonged periods standing, walking, and/or sitting at a desk and working on a computer may be required. Work may be required in various environments as needed by project/activity.
