26Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Family Practice – OB, experienced in providing comprehensive obstetric, prenatal care, and delivers. In this role, you will provide a full spectrum of high-quality healthcare services to expectant mothers and their babies and build long-term relationships with patients.
Duties and responsibilities
- Provide full-spectrum family medicine, including wellness exams, management of chronic disease, urgent care, and minor procedures.
- Perform initial assessments, order and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests and initiate treatment as needed.
- Deliver obstetric care, including prenatal visits, labor management, vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections (if credentialed), and postpartum follow-up.
- Care for newborns and provide pediatric services as part of family-centered care.
- Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, including nurses, midwives, and specialists.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, care team huddles, and patient-centered medical home activities.
- Educate patients and families on health promotion, disease prevention, and prenatal/postpartum health.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Participating in continuing education and quality improvement.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge on primary care protocols and emergency interventions.
- Participate in community outreach, call rotations, and after-houses coverage as needed.
- Will participate in the hospital’s call schedule for labor and delivers including after hours and weekend hours.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Experience
- Medical Doctor (MD/DO)
- Completion of an accredited Family Medicine residency program
- Additional training or demonstrated competency in Obstetrics,
- Current, unrestricted Florida Medical License
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Family Medicine
- Must be eligible for hospital privileges
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, NRP, and ALDO (Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics) preferred
- Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
Working conditions
- Prolonged periods standing, walking, and/or sitting at a desk and working on a computer may be required. Work may be required in various environments as needed by project/activity.
Physical requirements
- May require the occasional ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with assistance if needed
- May need to life patients, with assistance if needed.
