Product Development Manager-Beauty-San Fran

COSMETIC/BEAUTY PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT MANAGER POSITIONS IN SAN FRAN, CA

Seeking a Product Development Manager to help generate new and unique product ideas and initiatives that are on trend and aligned with brand vision. This role is fundamental to the fun, creative, and exciting world of creating new and innovative beauty products. We are looking for an individual who thrives in a fast-moving environment, with a positive, can do attitude that can adapt to a changing environment and shifts in priorities.

Responsibilities

• Assist Product Development Director with day-to-day needs

• Support in development and testing of new formulas

• Perform competitive research on new products, ingredient technologies, and competitive brand analysis to establish supporting data towards new products concepts

• Manage multiple color cosmetic projects (various product formats) concurrently with a high attention to detail, while being agile and adaptable to change, in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

• Interact directly with contract manufacturers to track projects and drive progress throughout the development process

• Collaborate with team to establish formula performance/shade prototypes for all new formula development and reformulation development

• Perform on-site formula development, shade matching, pilot/ scale-up and production batching, as needed

• Track and organize formula and shade submissions

• Organize and maintain Product Development storage rooms

• Attend industry events, trade shows and supplier meetings to stay abreast of current trends and technologies, as needed

Qualifications

• MIN of 5 years of Color or Skincare Cosmetics Product Experience and CURRENT.

• Strong organizational skills and extremely detail oriented

• Must feel comfortable being driven by deadlines with a high sense of urgency

• Strong verbal/written communication skills are essential - proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint is required

• Creative problem solving and analytical skills; keen attention to detail

• Be a team player with an entrepreneurial spirit, while projecting a professional attitude and foster a positive team atmosphere

• Thrives in a fast-paced and often-changing environment

• Flexible and positive attitude; able to work independently and within teams

• Must have the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external parties

• Proven track record driving successful product launches from concept to customer

• Proven experience of creating and executing compelling innovation strategies and product launches in color cosmetics

• Experience with managing contract manufacturer and supplier relationships

• Communication: Effective communication and collaboration with internal cross-functional organizations - from individual contributors to senior leadership

• Strong collaboration with external partners, demonstrating excellent verbal and written communication, project organization and project management skills
