Role Overview
The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will be part of a highly skilled engineering team focused on designing the next generation of satellite technologies and components. This role involves hands-on electrical design, cross-functional collaboration, and innovation in mission-critical environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop advanced electrical systems for space applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and program teams
- Support both R&D and production projects in a fast-paced environment
- Perform testing and validation of hardware in lab settings
- Ensure designs meet industry and mission-critical standards
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s (or higher) in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Computer Engineering
- 7 years of experience (BSEE) or 5 years (MSEE) in electrical design
- Strong communication skills (written & verbal)
- Experience with Altium Designer (or equivalent) for schematic capture/PCB layout
- Strong knowledge of digital, analog, and mixed-signal electronics
- Experience with:
- Power conversion electronics
- SoC / FPGA systems
- Communication interfaces (RS422/RS232, SPI, I2C)
- Analog signal conversion & sampling
- Experience in harsh or mission-critical environments (aerospace, space, automotive, or medical)
- Familiarity with industry standards such as EMI/EMC, MIL-STD-461, or NASA GEVS
Preferred Qualifications
- Design of circuit card assemblies (schematic capture, PCB layout, circuit analysis)
- Experience with EDA tools such as:
- Altium Designer
- LTSpice
- Siemens HyperLynx SI/PI
- Ability to work independently with strong ownership of design processes
- Hands-on lab testing experience (oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters)
- Experience collaborating with Manufacturing, Assembly, Test, FPGA, and Program teams
Experience & Education
- Experience: 7 Years
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher
Success Metrics
- Performance will be evaluated by a Lead Electrical Engineer
- Regular feedback provided to both the contractor and Director of Electrical Engineering
- Success is measured by quality of design, collaboration, and timely project delivery.
