Note: Position will be fully onsite with travel between the 3 locations below
Location 1: Maplewood, NJ
Location 2: Short Hills, NJ
Location 3: Summit, NJ

Mandatory skills/certification:

• OSHA -30HRS, Rail Safety Training

Desired skills:

• Bridge Painting Structural Steel.

Job Duties:

• To inspect construction work and furnished materials.
• Such inspection may extend to all or any part of the work and to the preparation, fabrication or manufacture of the materials to be used. Inspectors are not authorized to alter or waive the provisions of the Contract. Inspectors are not authorized to issue instructions contrary to the Contract Documents, or to act as foremen for the Contractor; however, they shall have the authority to reject Work or materials until a question at issue can be referred to and decided by the Client Construction Manager.

Job Responsibilities:

• Evaluating plans and specifications for construction projects to ensure conformance with regulations.
• Conducting field inspections to inspect cleaning and painting all surfaces of existing structural steel that were previously painted or galvanized.
• Assist in issuing violation notices and stop work orders where structures and materials do not comply with regulations.
• Reporting deviations and non-compliance with the scope of work.
• Prepare a detailed daily inspector's report with photographs and maintaining records of documentation.
• Assisting in payment verification including Client (laborer title, hours and rates), material quantity and equipment used.
• Attending meetings of construction projects.
• Successfully Complete Client Rail Safety
• Training (Client, NJT Light Rail or other Agency Training may be required).
