Are you ready to help us make the future?

The T55 Growth Project Engineering team has an immediate opening for a Principal Project Engineer as a Systems Engineer for the T55 Growth new engine development. To meet the needs of the marketplace in the face of stiff competition, the team must rapidly develop the new engine to be the best in the marketplace through execution of world class project management.

The Systems Project Engineer will lead a cross-functional engineering team to ensure seamless integration of major turboshaft engine systems (turbomachinery and controls) through robust requirements development to be best-in-market under strict schedule constraints. The selected individual will help lead definition, design, and implementation of Model Based System Engineer (MBSE) for the T55 Growth program within the Systems Project Engineering team—a new approach to requirements for Honeywell Engines and Power Systems. The selected Systems Project Engineer will work with a broad span of internal functional groups as well as support requirements and systems level development and trade discussions with external customer(s). The individual will serve as a mentor and systems technical leader for the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Lead and ensure design and development activity of the engine systems are in compliance with all technical requirements. Key aspects include requirements validation and verification, identification and support for the resolution of key technical challenges, and execution of qualification tasks as related to systems requirements.
    • Ensure all requirements are achieved for the powerplant system both within the engine and as it relates to the airframe integration.
    • Support development of MBSE for the engine development program and migration of requirements from DOORS to an MBSE tool.
  • Act as a mentor and systems technical leader for the organization.
  • Represent Honeywell in the industry or across Honeywell as an expert in the field of gas turbine module or system development and project management.
    • Broad indirect span of control of approximately 15 full time equivalent engineers.
  • Investigate broad, complex, and ambiguously defined challenges, rally team consensus around the scope and approach to resolution and lead the team to resolution.
  • Expected to serve as the single point leader for the project team
    • Single point of contact to the program for the assigned module or system
    • Leadership capability with diverse, cross functional team
    • Escalate effectively with leadership and cross-functionally across the organization
    • Strong commitment to customer satisfaction
    • Bias toward creative thinking and innovation in product design and approach to everyday work
    • Solid working knowledge of and commitment to IPDS processes
