Art Director Intern (Summer 2024)

As part of a dynamic content creation team our art director intern will work with all members, including senior leadership, creative directors, designers, copywriters and producers.

From creative brainstorming to day-to-day execution, Weber Shandwick's Interns form the foundation of a talented team that generates groundbreaking, award-winning programs. During the program, you'll will work on campaigns for iconic brands and companies you're likely encounter every single day.

More about the position:

What you'll do all day:

• Create production-ready designs and layouts, establish the look/tone/feel for campaigns and executions, and convey ideas through well-designed presentations
• In all social media-specific concepts, be sure to understand various execution formats and incorporate creative/design/layout best practices for various social media networks including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, LinkedIn and YouTube
• Translate video story ideas into visual sequences through storyboards, mood boards, etc.
• Ensure all visual design adheres to existing brand guidelines
• Be proactive and deliver assignments on-time
• Work across a fully integrated team with client experience, project managers, strategy, analytics, etc.
• Collaborate professionally and help maintain a positive work environment for all team members; will be asked on occasion to design presentation decks for team members in PPT
• Track brands in traditional and social media

• Concept and bring forward ideas that can tap into our audience and culture in an engaging and earned way

What we're looking for from you:

• Thinking:Do it out of the box. Actually, it's best if you're wholly unfamiliar with the concept of boxes. We want someone who can think in terms of acts not ads - we want ideas that spark conversation and resonate with our audiences.

• Digital:Know all the old school and the latest social media platforms, what brands are
  doing on them and what they should do next
• Hustle: You're a creative ninja. You bring fresh thinking, elevated creativity and great ideas to every assignment
• Communication:Speak, write and edit succinctly and compellingly
• Management:Meet deadlines, put out fires and multi-task. Work fast, and work well
• Detail-Oriented:Attentionto detail and a commitment to delivering clear and precise work isa must
• Technical: Proficient knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, primarily Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Knowledge of After Effects is a plus
• Dynamic:Ability to work in a fast-paced agency environment
• Spark: Understand what sets you apart

Requirements:

• The ideal candidate must be a college graduate by the start of the internship or have demonstrated transferrable skills
• Must be available to work 40 hours a week from June-October
