The Quisby is a modern upscale hostel in the Lower Garden District. Now that things are picking up in the city, we are looking for new housekeepers to join our small team. This position also includes automatic $0.50 raise at 6 months and 12 months, we don’t wear uniforms or nametags and we don’t say “Sir” or “Madam” but we’re very serious about making sure our guests have the best possible time in New Orleans.

Duties:

• To clean all public guest room areas of the hotel as assigned
• To promote good public relations
• Reports to work as scheduled, in proper uniform, in accordance with the company’s personal appearance standards
• Consistently maintains a friendly positive attitude that ensures positive guest experience and giving recognition to returning guests
• Follow and adhere to all policies and procedures as set forth by the Housekeeping Department
• Follows proper etiquette when communicating over the radio
• Respond to app messages(SLACK AND HOMEBASE) and other requests when assigned to them
• Responsible for helping room attendants by emptying trash and soiled linen from housekeeping carts
• Help maintain the following areas at all times: public rest rooms, hotel lobby, trash cans , elevators ,stairwells, building entrance and hallways
• Handle guests with excellent guest relations skills
• Clean hotel windows as needed
• Vacuum guest hallways daily
• Use proper chemicals when cleaning as described by the department’s procedures
• Attend all departmental meetings as scheduled
• Perform all duties in a timely and efficient manner
• Maintain linen closets clean, stock and organize
• Bring trash to compactor at the end of the day
• Perform all other duties as directed by management that are consistent with the policies and procedures of the company
• Notifies immediate supervisors promptly and fully of all problems or unusual matters of significance
• Is polite, friendly, and helpful to the guests, management, and fellow team members
• Attends all appropriate meetings and training sessions
• Maintains cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment, and work area
• Executes emergency procedures in accordance with hotel standards
• Complies with safety regulations and procedures
• Complies with hotel policies and rules
• Promotes and applies teamwork skills at all times
• Notifies appropriate individual promptly and fully of problems and/or unusual matters of significance
• Complies with hotel uniform and grooming standards

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.00 per hour
