Under close supervision performs work of moderate difficulty in the development and maintenance of a training, compliance, and volunteer programs for the Public Health Services District; this position has department-specific responsibility.

(Illustrative Only) Assists with the development of training and volunteer workforce programs; develops, creates, performs maintenance on software programs that monitor staff training progression, coordination of volunteer workforce, and ensures certification compliance and licensure requirements are met; assists with assessment of training needs through the development of surveys, interviews with employees, collaboration with managers and/or instructors; compiles materials for training and exercises; performance of administrative tasks such as monitoring costs, scheduling and coordination of training, exercises and meetings; assists with determining required certifications or continuing education requirements for public health staff and volunteers are met to maintain licensure; regular and reliable attendance is required; performs special projects and duties as needed.

High School Diploma or GED equivalent; AND applied and accepted or currently enrolled in an accredited college or university while enrolled in, nursing, public health nursing, environmental Health, EMS paramedic, and/or Allied Health courses. Special Requirements: Successful completion of a background check is required; must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver's license.

Knowledge of: Federal, state, and county grant regulations and procedures; health district policies and procedures; professional training and development methods; public health roles and core functions; staff research work, business English and report writing; office practices and procedures; presentation and delivery methods.

Skill in: Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public; communicating effectively verbally and in writing; using computerized systems such as Microsoft Office and other training and education software and equipment; preparing clear, comprehensive, and accurate reports.

Ability to: Communicate effectively verbally and in writing; maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the public; follow written and verbal instructions; in planning and organizing work; lift 10 pounds, bend, stoop, kneel, stand and walk; perform the essential functions of the job specifications with or without a reasonable accommodation.

 Work Environment

The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity; generally the job requires 60% sitting, 20% walking, and 20% standing; some work is performed in a warehouse, storage containers, or outdoors; lift and carry boxes, crates, bags, parcel packages, and supplies up to 50 lbs.; minimal exposure to dust, noise, temperature extremes, and unpleasant orders.
