Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is Hiring a Behavioral Health Services Coordinator Near Bethel, AK

Description:

The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation (YKHC) is located in the Southwestern Alaska town of Bethel, with a total of approximately 6,000 people. YKHC supports 1500 employees, providing the health services to a primarily Yup'ik Eskimo Native population for an area the size of Oregon. Services are provided through a Bethel located hospital and 50 clinics throughout the YK Delta.
Position Responsibilities:
Primarily responsible for facilitating the daily operation of YK Residential facilities and the associated programming. Supervisory responsibilities for psychiatric technicians (as directed). Reports directly to facility Clinical Coordinators unless otherwise directed.
Position Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED. RHS certification preferred. Two (2) years supervised experience with children and families performed at a satisfactorily level. Experience in a cross-cultural setting required preferably with Native American cultures. Advanced levels of education may be substituted for experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; computer skills for basic data entry necessary.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
