Job Details Job Location Peter Blum Family YMCA - Boca Raton, FL Position Type Part Time Description Job Summary: The Peter Blum Family YMCA is seeking a passionate and experienced Triathlon Coach to lead and develop our triathlon training programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in swimming, cycling, and running, and a commitment to fostering a positive and motivating environment. This role is responsible for coaching athletes of all skill levels, designing training plans, and promoting the values of the YMCA. Key Responsibilities: - Design and implement comprehensive triathlon training programs for individuals and groups. - Develop customized training plans tailored to the needs and goals of athletes at varying levels of experience. - Conduct regular training sessions focusing on swimming, cycling, running, and transition techniques. - Organize and lead triathlon-related events, such as clinics, workshops, and races. - Encourage and support athletes in participating in local, regional, and national triathlon events. - Assist with the promotion and recruitment of participants for triathlon programs. - Ensure all training sessions are conducted in a safe environment, adhering to YMCA policies and procedures. - Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and any incidents. - Stay updated on the latest triathlon coaching techniques and safety standards. - Promote the YMCA's triathlon program within the community to attract new participants. - Foster a supportive and inclusive team environment. - Engage with members and potential participants to build relationships and enhance program visibility. Qualifications Qualifications: - Certified Triathlon Coach (e.g., USAT Level I or higher). - CPR, First Aid, and AED certification (required). - Proven experience coaching triathletes of various levels. - Strong knowledge of triathlon training principles, techniques, and equipment. - Excellent communication, motivational, and leadership skills. - Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends. - Passion for promoting health and wellness through triathlon training. Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field. - Experience with youth and adult fitness programs. - Background in competitive triathlon participation. - Familiarity with YMCA programs and values. Working Conditions: - Ability to work in various environments including pool areas, outdoor cycling routes, and running tracks. - Physical ability to demonstrate triathlon techniques and participate in training sessions.
