Seeking a passionate leader to join our successful Youth Development team at a rapidly growing YMCA in Central Texas!
Job Description
The Associate Executive Director oversees the Child Development Center with children, age infant to 5 years old.Duties include but not limited to: hiring, training and supervision of staff; includes teachers, and teacher aides.The Associate Executive Director ensures a safe environment fostering positive development.Follows State guidelines for ratios of staff to student are met. Responsible for assisting with teacher evaluations, observing teachers in the classroom and rating performance.Steps in as needed to ensure successful programming. The Associate Executive Director assists and is responsible for communication regular communication with staff and parents.
Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years verifiable experience in a licensed child care center preferred
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a supervisory role preferred
  • Preferred educational requirements: Related degree (Masters, Bachelors, or Associates) in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Child and Family Studies or related field.
  • Prefer YMCA experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to lead staff in implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum
  • Demonstrated outstanding written and oral communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner
  • Must be computer literate in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Demonstrated social skills necessary to relate to a variety of people, remaining positive even under stressful situations
  • Ability to provide active supervision to a group of children
  • Must pass reference checks, pre-employment drug screen, background check and sex offender registry check.
Essential Functions

  • Works under the guidance of the District Executive Director of Child Development
  • Ensures Program quality and compliance with the State of Texas Department of Family and Protective Services
  • Leads team of CDC Directors; creates benchmarks for each classroom/age group
  • Ensure programs promote the development of each child's physical, emotional, and cognitive development in a nurturing environment.
  • Model exemplary professionalism and work ethic
  • Development of developmentally appropriate goals and standards for each classroom
