General Function:
To provide a high-quality basketball training experience for all individual and small group personal training participants in a fun and safe environment.
Know-How:
A YMCA Sports Instructor is required to possess knowledge of sports and drills to improve skills. First aid/CPR/AED certification is also required. Other YMCA specific training to be completed within the first 6 months of employment.
Job Segments:
- Arrive in a timely manner and be prepared to deliver quality programming for each session.
- Start and end session on time.
- Demonstrate proper form and technique to clients.
- Manage a safe training environment and maintain the safety of all participants.
- Manage client documentation.
- Supervise clients to ensure proper use all equipment used in sessions.
- Provide motivation, inspiration, and support for all clients.
- Will embrace, use and require all department staff to use all tools provided to increase the level of member satisfaction.
- Promote self and YMCA personal training program by participating in demo sessions and fitness orientations for new members.
- Assist with related programs and fitness events.
- Provide leadership and make new members feel welcome.
- Demonstrate Responsibility, Respect, Caring & Honesty towards members, guests, co-workers, and supervisor at all times.
- Promote and follow fitness guidelines at all times.
- Maintain physical ability to provide quality instruction for all individual and small group training clients.
- In an effort to keep employee injuries to a minimum, will encourage all staff to perform their duties in a safe and efficient manner. In all incidences, proper equipment must be used for the task being performed.
- Perform any unique duties requested, as deemed appropriate, by your supervisor.
