Roles and Responsibilities:
Job Summary/Overview:
The front end of week (FEOW) infrastructure (infra) electrical operations supervisor is responsible for a team of 7-8 electricians working to ensure 24/7 site-wide electrical operations support including incident response, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, monitoring, and device operations. This position will have a modified 4 day, 10-hour-day schedule for front half shifts Sunday thru Wednesday, 9:00am to 8:00pm; this will allow the supervisor time with both the day (A shift) and night (B shift) teams.
Specific Job Duties:
Candidate will be resposnible for supervision of A and B shift electricians to perform the following primary job tasks:
•Preventative maintenance (PM) & breakdown maintenance (BM) activities (visual and infrared)
•Monitor for and complete Electronic Device Operation Requests (EDORs) and Fab Walks (sitewide electrical requests) in allotted time
•Room housekeeping inspections and equipment rounds
•Safety and quality based observations of modifications/alterations
•Troubleshooting
o First responder to electrical Central Control Room (CCR) requests for site alarms or site/fab issues
•Engineering Support
o Install and retrieve power-monitoring equipment as requested
o Field data gathering for electrical modeling or master drawing as-built validations
Candidate will also perform the following direct duties in pursuit of the team mission:
•Coordinate backup coverage of CCR operations when operators are out
•Participate in the planning of and supervise the execution of complex load transfer (switching) activities
•Ensure that team meets all certifications and electrical safety based training that are required to perform electrical work at site
•Ensure that proper pass down is completed after each shift to communicate actions performed and any issues needing attention by next shift
•Golf cart ownership and assignment
Candidate should posses a strong knowledge of (or abillity to gain knowledge of) Samsung Austin Semiconductor's (SAS') electrical distribution system to assist in incident response and normal operations, including but not limited to:
•Ensuring compliance with department and site policies to guarantee operational safety
•Cultivating National Electric Code (NEC) and National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) 70E team knowledge and compliance
•Providing training on standard operating procedures (SOPs) and SAS systems necessary to communicate with the Infra Electrical Team
•Providing technical assistance to the team, as needed
Supervisory Responsibility:
Responsible for the overall performance of the A/B shifts for Infra Electrical to provide service to the site and to maintain the electrical distribution system with the goal of 100% uptime for the Fab.
Responsibility for safety, training and performance for your team by communicating internal to the department and external to the SAS customers across the site.
General supervisory activities associated with individual and team performance, including:
•Management of PTO requests to keep each shift staffed appropriately to support the site
•Holding weekly team meetings to ensure team's direction is alighned with that of the department
•Holding consistent 1:1 meetings with team members to ensure individual growth, team/department alignment, and job satisfaction
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand & walk. The employee frequently uses hands as part feeling for troubleshooting, reach with hands and arms to perform work, senses to speak and hear in loud environments. The employee must frequently lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
Shift: Modified (Sun - Wed 9a - 8p)
Skills and Qualifications:
Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum years of experience required
•High School Diploma or GED with formal Electrical Trade Training
•Minimum 3 years' experience as a Journeyman Electrician
•[Preferred] Minimum of 3 years' experience in the Semiconductor industry (primarily tool hook-up processes and methods)
•[Preferred] Minimum of 3 years' experience leading teams as a Supervisor, Foreman or Crew Lead
•[Preferred] Industrial Energized Electrical Work (EEW) experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Software, and Tools
•Strong understanding of electrical distribution system and single line diagram preferred
•Strong understanding of electrical/mechanical fundamental principles
•Strong understanding of NEC and NFPA 70E
•Intermediate MS Office software (including Word, Powerpoint, Excel, etc) capabilities
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills are required to effectively communicate technical content to various organizations.
•Knowledge of basic record keeping techniques
•Experience in creating SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
•Permanent right to work in US and ability to work overtime / on non-scheduled days as required
