Domestic Violence Community Health Worker

Job Summary:

Under general direction, is responsible for entry level professional community health work in one of several public health programs. Serves as a liaison between health and social services and the community to facilitate access to services and improve the quality and cultural proficiency of service delivery and work to improve health equity. Conducts outreach to implement programs in the community that promote, maintain, and improve individual and community health. Working conditions are in a community-based environment and an office environment. Exercises no supervision.

This position works throughout San Antonio to prevent and reduce violence using a Community Health Worker model. The Community Health Worker will distribute information to the public, work with small groups to influence norms around health, teach skills to community members related to personal safety and supporting other people, and partner with other community organizers and leaders.

Salary:

$19.90/hr
