Join Our Team as an Administrative Assistant/Insurance Claims Specialist (Part-time)

Are you a self-directed individual with excellent organizational skills and a passion for providing administrative support in the healthcare industry? We're seeking a dedicated team member to fulfill the role of Administrative Assistant/Insurance Claims Specialist. In this dynamic position, you'll handle a wide range of administrative tasks while also managing insurance claims and reimbursement processes to support our clinic's operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process health insurance claims and navigate payer requirements to ensure timely reimbursement.
  • Manage incoming phone calls from clients regarding billing inquiries and provide excellent customer service.
  • Follow up on unpaid bills and work with insurance companies to resolve outstanding issues.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls, emails, faxes, and online inquiries, triaging them to the appropriate staff members.
  • Greet and screen incoming visitors professionally and notify the appropriate person promptly of their arrival.
  • Schedule patient appointments using the electronic medical record scheduling system for clinic staff as needed.
  • Maintain relevant communications between providers to ensure seamless coordination of care.
  • Track and maintain the current status of all relevant business licensures, certifications, and insurances.
  • Operate standard office equipment, including facsimile machines, computers/printers, and photocopy machines.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills:

  • Familiarity with healthcare insurance industry expectations, including Medicare and/or Medicaid.
  • Familiarity with ICD-10, CPT, and other coding systems and claim forms
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong time management, organizational, and planning abilities.
  • Ability to multitask effectively and prioritize work.
  • Receives and applies constructive feedback in a positive manner.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare-related claims processing
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a administrative support role, with at least 1 year of human resources experience preferred.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 20 per week
