Hazen And Sawyer is Hiring a Water/Wastewater Project Manager Near Tempe, AZ

Hazen has an exceptional and immediate opportunity for a Water and Wastewater Project Manager to join our dynamic team in Tempe, AZ. 

Responsibilities to include:

  • Working on and leading a design team from initial studies and design through construction management projects.
  • Working throughout the municipal water, wastewater, and stormwater industry.
  • Supervise and provide technical direction to a team of junior and mid-level engineers. 
  • Be responsible for design tasks commensurate with experience 
  • On multiple concurrent projects, serve as the main point of contact for the client, contractors, and Hazen staff
  • Work with Hazen’s team in making decisions regarding technical approaches, cost control, schedule control, change management, risk and claims management, and project performance.
  • Actively manage and report on the status of the project schedule and budget.
  • Lead project meetings with client and stakeholders.
  • Develop, review, and approve written deliverables.
  • Position will lead to increasing levels of client development and management, supported by other local, regional and corporate staff. 

Minimum professional qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in civil/environmental engineering or a related field 
  • Proficient in all computer software typically used (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.) 
  • Strong organizational and proven problem-solving skills
  • PE license or the ability to obtain one within six months 
  • Desired experience is 10-15 years in the water field 
  • Preferred professional qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree in environmental engineering 
  • Background in business development 
  • Significant experience with public utilities
