SHORT STORY is Hiring a Sample/Product Coordinator Near San Francisco, CA

Your Role:

As a Product/Sample Coordinator you will have a critical role on the Merchandising team by maintaining samples, managing our product catalog, assisting with product shoots, and product marketing. We're a scrappy startup and you will wear multiple hats. You will manage all samples and collaborate with multiple busy, deadline-oriented teams. You will be a liaison between the Merchandising team and other teams like Styling and Operations. This role requires a huge sense of urgency, excellent problem-solving skills, time management, and follow-up to make the most of opportunities in a rapidly growing ecommerce environment. There is ample room for advancement and we hope to help you rapidly advance within the Merchandising org.

Your Responsibilities:

  • You will be the expert and key point of contact for all merchandise samples and be responsible for ordering, packing, organizing and distribution
  • You will report to the Head of Merchandising while partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure all inbound and outbound samples are appropriately tracked, filed, and/or returned in a timely, organized manner
  • Support team deliverables with timely sample requests,receiving, tracking, preparing for both campaign shoots and product photography
  • You will oversee regular correspondence to the Styling team to share accurate product information, including but not limited to, inseam, rise fabrication, color and print
  • As a product expert, you will ensure all product information is accurately entered into our internal database in a timely manner
  • You will act as a liaison between Operations and the Merchandise team to ensure Purchase Orders are received in a timely manner
  • You will partner with the Operations team and our vendor partners to execute RTV’s, and oversee any quality control issues 
  • Keep sample and product swatch library tidy and organized on a regular basis
  • Act as a knowledge sharing hub for product information with cross-functional partners (Styling and Operations)

  • Strong understanding of cross-functional dependencies combined with the ability to influence others and build trusted relationships.
  • Aptitude to learn technical applications and systems quickly
  • Proficient in MS office/Google Suites applications
  • Detail-oriented and superior organizational skills
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
