POSITION GOAL:

Provide kokua for accessing affordable health insurance services to the uninsured and underinsured Maui County population, naturally including the outer islands of Molokai and Lanai, while targeting COFA, migrant farm workers/service industry workers, homeless, IDUs, LGBTQ community, and recently released prison population. Seeking referrals, cohorts / collaboration with churches and community groups with access to hard to reach & at-risk communities. In doing so we learn that there are families and children who could benefit from other services Imua Family Services and our partner agencies whom have been overlooked because they have not been a part of the healthcare system in our community.

This position is a part-time position with the ability to become full-time.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Excellent knowledge of the COFA community we serve preferred.
• (Advanced/Intermediate/Entry) interpersonal skills required.
• Some knowledge of health care language, verbiage and medical terms.
• Has ability to work with diverse population.
• Has comfort level with the primary care pace and flexibility, including working with interdisciplinary team; strong communication skills; and is a team player.
• Has ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure.
• Has ability to work with computers and online utilizing Zoom and other online platforms.
