**Dishwasher Full Time Health Center**
**Department:** Culinary Services **Location:** Des Moines, WA
The **Dishwasher** will wash and put away all dishes, pots and pans; clean the floors, cooking equipment and haul garbage. Work to include any general cleaning needed in food service areas. Depending on location, may report to the Assistant Director of Culinary Services, Executive Chef or Sous Chef.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
- Maintain sanitation and safety standards.
- Set up, operate, clean, disassemble and reassemble dishwasher.
- Rack, rinse, wash, de-stain and put away dishes. Wash, sanitize and put away pots. Clean dish storage areas, counters and sinks.
- Sweep and scrub all floors including tray room, employee dining room, storage, kitchen, elevators and loading dock. Empty and clean garbage cans. Clean and fill ice buffets daily.
- Clean equipment including grill, steam kettles and steamer using approved methods.
- Other duties as assigned (Put away groceries and straighten storage areas, return all chemicals and supplies to their proper places at the end of shift, set up and remove table/equipment for all special functions, etc.)
**QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS**
Education Background
- No Education Background required for this position.
Licensure, Registration, Certification
- Current State of Washington Food Handlers Card.
Special Training/Skills
- Familiar with the operation and cleaning of food service equipment.
- Familiar with the safe use of chemicals.
- Knowledge of and practicing sanitation, cleanliness and personal hygiene.
- Basic computer skills needed.
- Reliability in attendance and punctuality.
- Pleasant demeanor, including good communication skills and cooperative attitude when working with staff and residents.
- Maturity and sensitivity toward employees, residents, visitors and guests.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and efficiently.
- Demonstrated ability to be patient, flexible and adaptable.
- Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to communicate with all customers.
Work Experience
- On-the-Job Training provided.
Physical Demands
- Able to work on ones feet for long periods of time.
- Able to bend, squat, reach and carry numerous items daily.
- Able to push loaded carts long distances.
- Able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Able to work overtime, weekends and holidays as necessary.
- Understand there is a possibility of cuts, burns and falls in light of good safety measures.
