In this position, you will assist the Survey Project Manager in the execution of various public and private sector survey assignments. You will work with other technicians and direct field crews to complete small and large-scale transportation projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordination with field crews and other technicians to monitor project responsibilities
  • Reviews consultant submittals for conformity to FDOTs standards and the scope of services.
  • Processes field data collected by the survey crew, evaluates, and assures the data is accurate and complete.
  • Utilizes CADD applications to create and/or revise maps and sketches, including Project Network Control sheets. Prepares and/or revises Legal descriptions.
  • Prepares and/or reviews scopes of services and staff hour estimates for design and PD&E projects requiring surveying and mapping services and deliverables.
  • Collects existing information such as field survey data, right of way maps, plats, title reports, and recorded documents.
  • Reviews and/or analyzes and calculates the location of the baselines and rights of way.
  • Perform boundary analysis
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma (or equivalent) and a minimum of 8 years of experience in the surveying and mapping field;
  • or a high school diploma (or equivalent) and a minimum of 4 years of experience in the surveying and mapping field plus a Geospatial Related Secondary Degree.
  • Experience with MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer
  • Experience with FDOT survey requirements and procedures.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas

Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate a computer, keyboard, and mouse. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to sit for prolonged periods, use hands/fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls reach with hands and arms, speak, and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
