The Program Chair in the College of Technology and Engineering serves as a member of the faculty and oversees undergraduate degree programs in the College of Technology and Engineering, including the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS), as well as the faculty who teach in those programs. Job Summary
Under the direction of the Dean of the College of Technology and Engineering, the Program Chair has direct oversight of both curriculum and faculty in the college. The Program Chair is responsible for reviewing, evaluating, revising, updating, and writing curriculum as appropriate, and is also a point of contact for faculty within the program regarding curriculum concerns or questions.
The Program Chair is responsible for documenting and evaluating metrics for program reviews. This includes reporting retention, completion, faculty performance, and student assessment data. The Program Chair works collaboratively with the other college leaders to achieve strategic goals.
In addition, as a member of the faculty, the Program Chair provides high-quality instruction and support to students of the University. For consideration, Program Chair candidates must possess the proper credentials and qualifications to teach a wide variety of courses in the information technology and computer science programs. Candidates for consideration must have a terminal degree plus work experience as well as a track record of excellence in teaching both in online and on campus formats. Prior leadership experience is preferred.
Requirements:
Leadership and Management Responsibilities: The Program Chair is responsible for coaching and mentoring faculty through direct observation and feedback, facilitating peer-to-peer observations, assigning professional development, and providing regular performance evaluations. Part-time faculty work in an hourly, non-exempt capacity, and an important part of the Program Chair role is monitoring and approving hours worked and reported by part- time faculty members to ensure that target hours provided to faculty are routinely met. The Program Chair is responsible for conducting coaching and professional development when any of these goals are not met. The Program Chair, in collaboration with, if applicable, the Dean, the Associate Dean, other Program Chair(s), Faculty, the LITE Center, and Human Resources, is responsible for recruiting, hiring, assisting with course scheduling, and developing the faculty members in the department.
Teaching Responsibilities: The Program Chair is required to teach the equivalent of three courses each semester. Typically, this will include one online course each session and one weekend course. All full-time members of the faculty (including Program Chairs) are expected to excel in all aspects of teaching and serve as a model for others as to how to conduct oneself in the classroom and facilitate student learning. This includes (but is not limited to):
Outside of class time, all full-time members of the faculty (including Program Chairs and Assistant Program Chairs) are expected to maintain a minimum of 2 office hours per week available to students both on campus and virtually. All full-time members of the faculty (including Program Chairs) have an obligation to represent the university well and attend and support university events and functions.

The range for hiring in US is $70K/yr to $82,500/yr. IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL BE ABLE TO TRAVEL EASILY TO MIAMI, FL, ORLANDO, FL, OR IRVINE, CA.
