CherryWood Village is Hiring a Floor Technician Near Portland, OR

Our Floor Technician at Cherrywood Village is responsible for the professional, efficient, and thorough cleaning of the floors throughout our community by working with machinery and hand tools, spot cleanings as needed, shampooing carpets, and all other duties assigned per the Director of Environmental Services. This work must be done in compliance with federal, state, local, and company standards for facility operation. Housekeepers are also expected to communicate daily with residents and staff in a positive and professional manner. Complies with federal, state, and local standards for facility operation. Incorporates the Generation’s Mission, Vision, and Values into their daily work and interactions with others.

SCOPE OF JOB TASKS:

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Shampooing, deodorizing, and removing stains in all buildings on a scheduled basis, as well as for emergencies that may arise
  • Works with hazardous chemicals maintains inventory of all products and chemicals needed for floor care, and notifies the director when supplies are low.
  • Assist staff members and departments to ensure seamless apartment turnover
  • Review the physical environment of the facility regularly and direct requests for repair and replacement.
  • Assists personnel and residents in establishing a home-like atmosphere
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing environment for residents.
  • Other duties as assigned in job description

JOB SPECIFICATION:

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid.
  • Ability to read, write, communicate, and follow written and oral instructions in the English language.

Work Experience:

  • Experience in housekeeping is preferred, but not required.

Supervision:

  • Needs to be self-directed and possess the ability to make decisions. Works closely with all other clinical staff on a regular basis.

  • Workday - 8 hours
  • Stands - often, up to 8 hours

  • Bends - occasional
  • Stairs - occasional, but not required

Working Conditions:

Indoors with the potential to work in hot humid conditions in some resident apartments. Work with a variety of staff. Interacts with the public, personnel, visitors, family members, and residents under all circumstances.
